Extraordinary brands need content that moves people. For more than a decade, I've been the person who writes it.
Hi, I'm Lauren. I'm a content specialist with 15+ years of experience turning complex subjects into clear writing.
Most of my recent work has been in education, where I help more than 50 university brands tell their story and tens of thousands of students find the right fit.
Before that, I spent seven years at the University of Chicago Press and The Chicago Manual of Style, where I wrote for audiences who expect every word to land right.
Higher ed and publishing have been my main beats, but the skill carries anywhere. I've written for data analytics, nursing, software engineering, music education, social work, sustainable energy, finance, and so much more.
The work is the same wherever I go: figure out what the reader actually wants to know, and give them that information in a way that is clear, concise, and gets them on their way.
I'm a journalism grad with a dog-eared AP Stylebook and a soft spot for The Chicago Manual of Style, and I believe good writing makes people's lives easier.
If you've got a content problem to solve, I'd love to hear about it.

So I've made it a point to lead rather than wait. At AllCampus, I built training sessions and guides to help our team use AI well, and I serve on our internal AI taskforce. The goal is working smarter without producing slop, and I've developed a pretty sharp eye for the difference. (And yes, the em dash up there is intentional.)
I put this presentation together for our annual company meeting, as part of a larger talk on using AI tools effectively and responsibly. It covers quick tips for writers who are newer to LLMs and want their output to sound less robotic.
